Cursor Releases Cursor 3 as Unified Workspace for AI Coding Agents

Cursor has introduced Cursor 3, a redesigned interface that consolidates all coding agents into a single workspace, according to a company blog post. The new version allows developers to operate multiple agents in parallel across local and cloud environments, offering a unified view of active sessions from desktop, mobile, and web.

The update includes a new handoff experience between local and cloud agents, enabling users to move sessions seamlessly between devices. Developers can run agents locally for testing or shift them to the cloud for long-running tasks. Cursor 3 also integrates Composer 2, the company’s coding model designed for faster iteration.

A new diffs view supports faster editing and pull request management, while the interface retains file navigation features such as “go to definition” and full language server support. The release also adds an integrated browser for local website testing and access to hundreds of plugins through the Cursor Marketplace.

Cursor 3 marks a step toward more autonomous software development workflows, providing a foundation for managing fleets of AI agents capable of building and maintaining codebases with minimal manual oversight.
