CropX Acquires SCIO for Agronomic Intelligence Platform

CropX Technologies has acquired SCIO, adding portable near infrared spectroscopy tools for crop quality analysis to its digital agronomy platform.

CropX Technologies has acquired SCIO, a provider of portable near infrared spectroscopy tools for agriculture and food analysis, the company announced in a press release. The deal is CropX's eighth acquisition since 2020.

SCIO adds crop quality and composition measurement to CropX's digital agronomy platform. CropX said the combined system will connect soil and crop data with harvest quality analysis and post harvest operations.

SCIO's technology is protected by 44 granted patents and includes products such as SCIO Mini and SCIO Cup. Its tools support applications across seed production, grain, oilseed, feed, forage, dairy, berries, sweet corn, and food processing.

CropX said SCIO also adds enterprise customers and a SaaS business. CropX has raised $64 million since its founding and serves customers in more than 70 countries.
