Cohere has acquired Ottogrid, a Vancouver-based platform known for automating high-level market research tasks. The acquisition was announced by Ottogrid co-founder Sully Omar in a post on X, although the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ottogrid will phase out its current product offerings, providing customers with ample notice and a transition period. Omar expressed enthusiasm about joining Cohere, highlighting plans to integrate Ottogrid's capabilities into Cohere's platform to enhance workflow automation, data enrichment, and operational scaling.

Cohere's CEO, Aidan Gomez, stated that Ottogrid's technology will be incorporated into North, Cohere's ChatGPT-style application designed to assist knowledge workers. This acquisition aligns with Cohere's strategic focus on private AI deployments for sectors such as healthcare, government, and finance, as the company recently reported an annualized revenue of $100 million.
