Cisco and NVIDIA Partner to Enhance AI Data Center Networks

Cisco and NVIDIA have announced an expanded partnership to create a unified architecture for AI-ready data center networks, as stated in a press release by Cisco Systems, Inc.

Cisco and NVIDIA have announced plans to expand their partnership to accelerate AI adoption in enterprise data centers, as stated in a press release. The collaboration aims to integrate Cisco's Silicon One with NVIDIA's Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform, offering enterprises enhanced flexibility and choice in AI data center investments.

The partnership will see Cisco developing systems that combine NVIDIA Spectrum silicon with Cisco's operating system software. This integration will allow enterprises to standardize on both Cisco and NVIDIA technologies, simplifying the management of AI workloads across data centers and cloud environments.

By unifying the architectural model between front-end and back-end networks, the collaboration seeks to optimize AI infrastructure investments. The joint effort will focus on delivering high-performance, low-latency, and power-efficient connectivity solutions, addressing the technical complexities and security demands of AI-ready data centers.

Cisco plans to enhance its Silicon switches to be compatible with NVIDIA's Spectrum-X platform, with updates expected by mid-2025. This expanded partnership is set to open new market opportunities for Cisco, making it the only partner silicon included in NVIDIA's Spectrum-X Ethernet solutions.
