China Highlights Intelligent Manufacturing Push at World Intelligence Expo 2026
China's efforts to advance intelligent manufacturing were a central focus at the World Intelligence Expo 2026 in Tianjin, according to a report from China Daily. The event featured the "CEO: Grow with China" roundtable, where executives from sectors such as green development, smart manufacturing, and consumer technology discussed the country's evolving industrial landscape.
Government initiatives highlighted at the expo include the expansion of the "AI Plus" program, which promotes the application of intelligent terminals, AI agents, and large-scale AI use in key sectors. Officials described the policy as part of a broader effort to build an ecosystem supporting the smart economy.
Industry representatives noted that China's shift toward intelligent manufacturing is expected to reshape the business environment over the next decade. A survey by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and consultancy Roland Berger indicated rising confidence among European companies operating in the country, with three quarters reporting higher production efficiency in China compared to other regions.
Tianjin, the host city, has emerged as a growing hub for AI and advanced manufacturing. The city's AI-related industries generated more than 300 billion yuan in operating revenue, reflecting its expanding role in China's industrial transformation.
