Ceva Launches PentaG-NTN 5G Modem IP for Satellite Networks
Ceva, Inc. has unveiled PentaG-NTN, a new 5G-Advanced modem IP subsystem designed for satellite user terminals, announced in a press release at MWC Barcelona 2026.
Built on Ceva's third-generation PentaG platform, the PentaG-NTN modem IP supports both Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellations. The subsystem is designed to accelerate the deployment of standards-based 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), enabling faster market entry for satellite operators and terminal developers while reducing silicon development risks.
The PentaG-NTN brings production-ready 5G-NTN connectivity across satellite networks, while Ceva's PentaG-Edge extends the same architecture to industrial, private 5G, and IoT applications. The unified modem subsystem aims to provide scalable 5G-Advanced connectivity for both terrestrial and satellite use cases.
