Carrier and Google Cloud Collaborate on AI-Powered Home Energy Systems

Carrier Global Corporation and Google Cloud have partnered to enhance grid resilience with AI-powered home energy management systems, announced in a press release.

Carrier Global Corporation and Google Cloud have announced a partnership to enhance grid resilience through AI-powered home energy management systems, announced in a press release. This collaboration aims to integrate Carrier's battery-enabled HVAC technology with Google Cloud's AI analytics and WeatherNext AI models.

The initiative, led by Carrier Energy, seeks to create an intelligent energy ecosystem that balances supply and demand across the grid. By leveraging real-time energy forecasting and intelligent grid interaction, the system will allow homeowners to store energy in batteries and use it during peak demand periods, potentially reducing electricity costs. Google's AI-powered WeatherNext models will further optimize HVAC operations for greater efficiency.

The project will roll out in phases through 2027, focusing on nationwide adoption. By integrating Carrier's Home Energy Management System (HEMS) with Google Cloud's BigQuery, Vertex AI, and generative AI solutions, the system will manage energy flows in real-time, contributing to a more balanced and sustainable energy grid. This collaboration supports Carrier's goal of helping customers avoid over one gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
