Bulgaria and Google Cloud Launch AI National Cyber Defense System
Bulgaria's Information Services has partnered with Google Cloud to implement an AI powered national cybersecurity system announced in a press release. The collaboration aims to modernize security infrastructure across 54 government entities through the deployment of Google Cloud's Cybershield platform.
The project includes the creation of a federated Security Operations Center that provides centralized monitoring and rapid threat response for Bulgarian ministries and agencies. It integrates Google Cloud Security Operations and Google Threat Intelligence, supported by Mandiant’s threat insights.
The system uses AI based analytics and secure infrastructure to identify and neutralize cyber threats in real time. Specialized analyst capabilities are also being developed to support Bulgarian teams in managing complex intrusion scenarios.
Supported by funding from the European Union, the initiative is part of Bulgaria’s National Cyber Defense Strategy. The program began earlier this year and aims to strengthen the country's defensive posture through unified, automated security operations.
