Bot Auto Secures Comprehensive Insurance for Autonomous Truck Fleet

Bot Auto has finalized an insurance program with Marsh to cover its autonomous truck operations, enabling daily commercial driverless freight runs between Houston and San Antonio.

Bot Auto has established a comprehensive insurance program to support its autonomous truck fleet, announced in a press release. The program, underwritten by an A-rated carrier and placed by Marsh, includes coverage for auto liability, property, general liability, cargo, inland marine, and cyber risk.

The insurance initiative aims to enable the safe scaling of Bot Auto's driverless freight operations by making risk measurable and traceable through real-time data and consistent vehicle behavior. The company has already completed driverless runs on public roads in Houston and now operates daily commercial loads between Houston and San Antonio.

According to Marsh, qualifying for its autonomous vehicle insurance program requires a comprehensive risk mitigation strategy that exceeds standard industry practices. The placement of Bot Auto's insurance coverage marks a milestone in advancing insured commercial autonomous trucking in the United States.
