Block Deploys NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD for AI Research
Block, Inc. has become the first company in North America to deploy the NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems, announced in a press release. This new infrastructure will be installed at an Equinix data center and will support Block's research and training of open source generative AI models.
The deployment of the Grace Blackwell-powered NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD is aimed at advancing the capabilities of AI models, enabling larger and more complex models to be trained efficiently. Block's CTO, Dhanji R. Prasanna, emphasized the company's commitment to exploring novel AI solutions and sharing their findings with the open source community.
Block's AI research has previously focused on areas such as deepfake detection and generative speech models, positioning the company well for further innovation in generative AI. The deployment at Equinix's AI-ready data centers will provide Block with the necessary infrastructure to push the boundaries of AI technology.
