Blacksmith Raises $45 Million for Code Validation Cloud
Blacksmith has raised a $45 million Series B led by Peak XV Partners, valuing the company at $550 million, the company announced in a press release.
Existing investors Y Combinator and GV (Google Ventures) also participated in the round. Blacksmith said it now has more than 6,000 customers, up from about 800 when it announced its Series A last September.
Blacksmith runs cloud infrastructure for validating code, including continuous integration workloads for GitHub Actions. The company said CI jobs on its platform have grown between 5% and 10% week over week since the start of the year as teams use coding agents to produce more pull requests.
The company also develops codesmith, a cloud coding agent that can build features, fix bugs, diagnose CI failures, and autofix them. Blacksmith said most of the new funding will go toward compute, with plans to grow its core capacity by an order of magnitude in the coming months.
