Baseten Secures $150 Million to Expand AI Inference Platform
Baseten has raised $150 million in a Series D funding round, nearly tripling its valuation to $2.15 billion, announced in a press release. The funding round was led by BOND, with participation from new investors CapitalG, Premji, and Kevin and Elizabeth Weil of Scribble, alongside existing investors such as Conviction, 01a, IVP, Spark, and Greylock.
The funds will be used to scale Baseten's AI inference platform, which is designed to power AI products and applications across various industries. The platform combines applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and developer tools to facilitate the deployment of AI models into production. Baseten plans to invest in model performance research, infrastructure, and developer tooling, as well as expand its customer teams to meet growing demand.
Baseten's platform is recognized for its performance, cost efficiency, and scalability, making it a cornerstone for hypergrowth AI companies. The company aims to address the inference bottleneck, a critical stage in AI model deployment, which is essential for generating predictions and insights.
