Augment Code Introduces Simplified Pricing Based on User Messages

Augment Code has announced a new pricing model that charges customers based on the number of successful user messages sent, simplifying the billing process.

Augment Code has introduced a new pricing model that simplifies billing by charging customers based on the number of successful user messages sent. This change, announced on May 7, 2025, aims to streamline the pricing structure by eliminating the need for customers to track various metrics such as tool calls and token counts.

The new pricing approach is designed to be straightforward, with one user message equating to one clear price. This decision was made following feedback from the community, which expressed a preference for a more transparent and manageable billing system. Existing customers on the $30 Developer plan will retain their current rate as long as they remain on the plan.

Augment Code's pricing plans cater to different user needs, ranging from the Community plan for casual users to the Max plan for power users who operate multiple agents. Customers can purchase additional messages or upgrade their plans if they exceed their limits. This new pricing model reflects Augment Code's commitment to optimizing user experience by focusing on what matters most: leveraging their platform to enhance productivity.
