Apple to Allow Developers Access to AI Models
Apple Inc. is set to open its artificial intelligence models to third-party developers, . This initiative aims to boost the creation of new applications by allowing developers to write software using the large language models that power Apple Intelligence.
The company is developing a software development kit and related frameworks to facilitate this integration. The announcement is expected at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9. Initially, Apple will provide access to smaller AI models that run on its devices, with plans to expand to more advanced cloud-based models later.
This move could enhance the appeal of Apple Intelligence among developers and users, as developers have previously been unable to use Apple's AI models to develop their own AI features. By opening up its AI technology, Apple aims to compete more effectively with rivals like Samsung, which have integrated AI features powered by companies such as Google.
