Apple Agrees to Acquire Samplab Assets and Hire Staff

Oct 19, 2026
Apple agreed to acquire certain assets from Swiss audio editing startup Samplab and hire some of its employees. Samplab built tools that let musicians separate and modify parts of recorded audio.

Apple Inc. agreed in June to acquire certain assets from Samplab and hire some of the Swiss startup's employees, according to 9to5Mac. The transaction appeared in the European Union's List of Acquisitions on October 19.

Samplab developed audio editing tools that let musicians work with recorded audio in a way similar to MIDI. Its software could detect and change chords, match the tempo and key of samples, separate audio into stems, and modify individual notes.

Samplab's website now redirects to Apple's website. Its previous posts and videos have also been removed from its social media accounts and YouTube channel.
