Ant International has partnered with Barclays to enhance global treasury management using a proprietary AI-powered FX model, announced in a press release. The collaboration leverages Ant International's Time-Series Transformer (TST) AI FX Model to forecast cashflow and FX exposure with over 90% accuracy, aiming to reduce FX-related costs and risks for businesses.

The TST Model, based on transformer architecture with nearly 2 billion parameters, integrates advanced time series forecasting algorithms to predict patterns over time. This model allows for accurate predictions of trading volumes, reducing unnecessary hedging and risk premium costs from banks.

Barclays has integrated the TST Model into its FX hedging platform, BARX NetFX, which serves the e-commerce and payment industries. This integration is part of Barclays' FX Automation strategy, enhancing the accuracy of FX exposure forecasts and optimizing FX hedging processes. Initial trial transactions have shown that Ant International's clients benefit from reduced FX costs.

The partnership highlights the potential of AI in mitigating global FX volatility, with both companies aiming to expand the solution to cover more currencies and business needs in the future.
