Amazon to Add 2 Million Nvidia GPUs to AWS Data Centers

Amazon will add 2 million more Nvidia GPUs to its data center fleet in 2027 and 2028. The order includes Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra chips, with financial terms not disclosed.

Amazon will add 2 million additional NVIDIA GPUs to its data center fleet in 2027 and 2028, Bloomberg reports. The order follows Amazon's March plan to install 1 million NVIDIA chips in AWS data centers beginning this year.

The new chips include Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra GPUs. Amazon and NVIDIA did not disclose financial terms.

NVIDIA also said its technology will be integrated across AWS, including networking hardware, CPUs, open models, data processing software and robotics tools. AWS will also serve NVIDIA's Nemotron open models through Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker.

Amazon continues to build its own chips through Annapurna Labs, including Trainium AI accelerators and Graviton CPUs. The company has said the next Trainium chip will use NVIDIA networking technology.
