Alibaba’s Qwen Team Releases Qwen-Image-2512 With Enhanced Realism and Detail
The Qwen team at Alibaba Group has released Qwen-Image-2512, the December update to its open-source text-to-image generation model. The new version introduces major improvements in realism, detail, and multimodal rendering capabilities.
Qwen-Image-2512 significantly enhances the depiction of human subjects, producing more lifelike facial features and natural body postures compared to the August release. The model also improves environmental context and lighting accuracy, reducing the artificial appearance often associated with AI-generated images.
In addition to human realism, the model delivers finer natural details across landscapes, wildlife, and textures. Examples include more accurate rendering of water flow, foliage, and animal fur, with improved tonal gradation and texture layering.
Text rendering has also been upgraded. Qwen-Image-2512 achieves better accuracy and layout consistency when generating images containing written elements, such as posters, slides, or infographics. The model supports complex multimodal compositions that combine text and imagery with higher fidelity.
According to internal evaluations on the AI Arena platform, the Qwen team reports that Qwen-Image-2512 currently ranks as the strongest open-source text-to-image model while remaining competitive with leading closed-source systems.
