Airbnb Adds AI Search and Social Travel Features

Sep 30, 2026
Airbnb is adding natural language property search, dynamic filters, listing summaries and tools for comparing saved properties. Its app will also show connections' trips on a map and offer more travel services.

Airbnb is adding AI search and more social travel features in its fall product update, according to TechCrunch. Users can search for properties with text or voice prompts, then refine results through filters generated from their stated preferences.

The app will use AI to highlight relevant property details and create summaries that help users compare saved listings and reviews. The search uses a dedicated option rather than a chatbot interface.

Airbnb is also adding a map that shows past and upcoming trips shared by a user's connections, including stays and booked experiences. Users can choose not to share their trips.

The update expands Airbnb's services in selected locations, including meal and grocery delivery, laundry, baby equipment rental, and ski and boat rental.
