AIPOCH Releases Open-Science Research Workbench

Oct 14, 2026
AIPOCH has released an open source AI research workbench that combines agents, literature, data, code execution and research files. Its .science packages preserve selected records and evidence for review or continued work.

AIPOCH announced in a press release the public release of AIPOCH Open-Science, an open source AI research workbench available under the Apache License 2.0. It combines AI agents, scientific literature, data sources, research files, computing resources and executable tools in one workspace.

Users can ask agents to inspect permitted files, search approved sources, query scientific data connectors and run Python, R and shell workflows. The workbench includes 23 built in Skills, 525 marketplace Skills, 36 research connectors and support for Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex and CodeBuddy.

Its .science packages can contain selected conversation branches, file versions, notebook records, provenance and verification evidence. Imported packages open as read only records and do not automatically run code or restore credentials, but users can create writable copies to continue the work. Open-Science supports multiple AI model providers, compatible custom gateways and locally deployed models. A preprint describing the workbench is available on arXiv.
