DC Market Insights projects the global data center cable market will grow from $10.65 billion in 2025 to $27.29 billion by 2035 as AI clusters increase demand for fiber connectivity.

DC Market Insights said in a press release that the global data center cable market could grow from $10.65 billion in 2025 to $27.29 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate of 9.87%. Cabling in an AI focused data hall cost an estimated $1.07 million per megawatt in 2025, compared with $0.43 million for a conventional data hall.

Fiber optic cables accounted for 47.6% of the market in 2025, generating an estimated $5.07 billion. The segment could reach $15.94 billion by 2035 as accelerator clusters and 400G, 800G and emerging 1.6T networks increase fiber requirements.

AI facilities represented an estimated 35% of new data center capacity in 2025 and could reach 66% by 2035. Annual additions of data center IT capacity are projected to rise from about 12 gigawatts in 2025 to 27 gigawatts in 2035.
