AI Data Center Market to Reach $78.91 Billion by 2032

September 12, 2025
The AI data center market is projected to grow from $13.67 billion in 2024 to $78.91 billion by 2032, driven by increasing AI workloads and strategic investments in infrastructure.

The AI data center market is projected to grow from $13.67 billion in 2024 to $78.91 billion by 2032, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.5% during 2025–2032, announced in a press release. This growth is fueled by the increasing demand for AI workloads, including large language model training and enterprise-scale inference, which require significant computing power, storage, and energy resources.

In 2024, AI workloads accounted for nearly half of all new hyperscale deployments, with the U.S. and China emerging as key investment hubs. By 2030, AI data centers are expected to consume up to 10–12% of U.S. electricity and nearly 4% of China's national grid capacity. This highlights the global challenge of balancing innovation with sustainability and energy infrastructure.

Strategic initiatives are underway to address these challenges. The U.S. Department of Energy announced the AI Hub Program in July 2025, selecting four federal sites to host advanced AI data centers integrated with clean energy infrastructure. This initiative aims to reduce costs and ensure grid reliability.

In China, the government is investing $6.1 billion to deploy 1.95 million server racks across eight western hubs, shifting AI workloads to regions rich in renewable energy. Additionally, the GLP-Zhejiang partnership is expanding AI-ready capacity across 20 centers, aligning with Zhejiang's AI industry strategy by 2030.
