AHEAD has opened a new air and liquid cooled rack integration facility in Libertyville, Illinois, designed to accelerate enterprise AI infrastructure deployment by reducing setup timelines from months to weeks.

AHEAD has opened a new air and liquid cooled rack integration facility at its Libertyville, Illinois campus, announced in a press release. The site is designed to support high density AI and high performance computing workloads while reducing enterprise deployment timelines from months to weeks.

The new facility expands AHEAD’s Libertyville campus to more than 350,000 square feet, featuring a scalable 10MW integration environment capable of supporting racks exceeding 100kW. The building was repurposed from a former plastic injection molding facility, increasing capacity without new construction or additional power requirements.

The integration process includes full rack scale assembly, cabling, configuration, and testing before delivery, allowing clients to receive ready-to-deploy systems. The site supports air cooling, rear door heat exchangers, and single phase direct to chip liquid cooling, improving efficiency and reliability for dense GPU infrastructure.

An expanded Innovation Lab within the facility uses NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins of client environments, enabling testing and optimization of compute, storage, networking, and AI workloads before production deployment. The facility was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by employees, customers, partners, and local leaders.
