AEON Launches AI Payment System for Autonomous Crypto Transactions
AEON has launched AI Payment, a new infrastructure that allows AI agents to autonomously conduct transactions using cryptocurrency, announced in a press release. This system enables AI agents to search, shop, and pay without human intervention across digital platforms and physical retail environments.
The AI Payment system includes features such as online crypto payments, mobile QR code-based payments through AEON Pay, and Swap Pay for automatic conversion between crypto assets and blockchain networks. Future enhancements will include NFC-based functionality for contactless transactions.
AEON has partnered with AI projects like PIN AI and SendAI, and major blockchain platforms including BNB Chain, Solana, and TRON, to integrate AI agents into real-world commerce. The company aims to expand its AI agent payment coverage to 80% of real-world use cases by 2025, starting in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, with plans to partner with Visa and Mastercard for expansion into North America and Europe.
