Adobe Introduces Tool to Protect Images from AI Training
Adobe has introduced a new tool designed to give creators more control over their images in the context of AI training, . The tool, part of Adobe's Content Authenticity Initiative, allows users to attach content credentials to image files, signaling to AI companies that these images should not be used for training models.
The new web app, named Adobe Content Authenticity App, enables creators to attach their credentials, such as name and social media accounts, to up to 50 JPG or PNG files at once. This initiative is part of Adobe's effort to establish a standard similar to the robots.txt file used by websites to manage web crawlers.
Adobe is also collaborating with LinkedIn to leverage its verification program, ensuring that the person attaching credentials to an image has a verified identity. While the app allows users to link their Instagram or X profiles, it does not currently integrate verification from these platforms.
Despite the introduction of this tool, Adobe has not yet secured agreements with AI model developers to adopt this standard. The company is in discussions with leading AI developers to encourage the use and respect of these content credentials. Additionally, Adobe plans to expand this tool's capabilities to support video and audio files in the future.
