Actian Introduces Data Steward Agent to Automate Metadata Management
Actian has introduced the Data Steward Agent, an AI tool integrated into the Actian Data Intelligence Platform to ensure semantic consistency across enterprise systems, announced in a press release.
The agent automates documentation, enrichment, and metadata management tasks, reducing manual effort and improving the speed of building and maintaining AI ready data foundations. It operates continuously within catalog workflows, updating metadata as data environments evolve.
Built on a federated knowledge graph, semantic layer, data products, and data contracts within the platform, the agent allows both internal platform functions and external AI agents connected through the Model Context Protocol or agent to agent integrations to operate within a unified business context. By identifying gaps, suggesting updates, and enforcing consistency, the tool helps data teams focus on governance, validation, and large scale data preparation for AI.
