Vention Launches AI-Ready Automation Controller with Cellular Connectivity
Vention has announced the commercial availability of its MachineMotion AI, an AI-ready automation controller with built-in cellular connectivity. Announced in a press release, the controller is designed to replace traditional PLCs with a plug-and-play system that supports the next generation of robotics and automated equipment.
MachineMotion AI is embedded with NVIDIA-accelerated computing technology, enabling it to handle compute-intensive AI workloads necessary for autonomous robotics. The controller also features direct cellular technology, offering manufacturers connectivity for over-the-air software updates, remote support, and cloud-based analytics.
The controller was demonstrated at NVIDIA GTC, where it powered an autonomous bin-picking robot capable of sub-millimeter grasping dexterity. It will also be showcased at Automate 2025 in Detroit, where it will power multiple automation systems, including the autonomous bin-picking robot.
MachineMotion AI is compatible with leading robot brands such as ABB, FANUC, and Universal Robots, and it supports leading industrial protocols like Ethernet/IP, IO-Link, and MQTT. The controller delivers up to 3,000W of power and can drive up to 30 servo motors via EtherCAT, making it a robust solution for modern AI-driven automation and robotics systems.
