Perplexity AI to Partner with Samsung and Motorola for AI Integration
Perplexity AI is reportedly in discussions with Samsung and has reached an agreement with Motorola to integrate its AI technology into their smartphones, according to Bloomberg. The collaboration with Motorola is expected to be announced at a product event in New York City on April 24.
The partnership with Motorola will see Perplexity's AI assistant featured alongside Google's Gemini as an option on Motorola devices. A special user interface will be developed to encourage users to try Perplexity's assistant, which will also be highlighted in marketing efforts.
As for Samsung, discussions are still in the early stages. The potential deal could involve making Perplexity the default AI assistant or preloading its Android app on Samsung phones. Despite Samsung's existing partnership with Google, which provides many of its AI features, the company has been building ties with Perplexity, including a previous investment and potential future funding.
This news follows Deutsche Telekom's announcement of using Perplexity's technology for an "AI Phone," which will serve as a virtual assistant, allowing users to perform tasks through voice commands.
