Meta's $100 Million Offers Fail to Lure OpenAI Talent

Meta's attempt to recruit OpenAI employees with $100 million signing bonuses has been unsuccessful, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Meta AI has attempted to recruit employees from OpenAI by offering substantial compensation packages, including $100 million signing bonuses. However, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, stated on the 'Uncapped' podcast that these efforts have not succeeded, as none of OpenAI's top talent have accepted the offers, according to TechCrunch.

Altman expressed his belief that OpenAI's prospects in achieving superintelligence are more promising than Meta's, and he criticized Meta's strategy of using high compensation as a primary recruitment tool. He suggested that this approach might not foster a strong company culture.

Meta's recruitment efforts come amid its significant investments in AI, including a recent $15 billion investment in data-labeling firm Scale AI. Despite these moves, Altman remains confident in OpenAI's position and its ability to attract and retain top AI talent.
