Linux Foundation Integrates Agentgateway for AI Agent Connectivity
The Linux Foundation has integrated the Agentgateway project, an open-source AI-native proxy developed by Solo.io, to enhance connectivity, security, and observability in AI agent environments, announced in a press release. This project aims to address the limitations of existing gateways that were not designed for modern AI protocols.
Agentgateway is the first data plane specifically built for AI agents, facilitating secure and governed communication across agent-to-agent, agent-to-tool, and agent-to-LLM interactions. It supports leading protocols such as Agent2Agent (A2A) and Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), attracting contributions from major organizations like Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Microsoft, and others.
With the support of the Linux Foundation, the Agentgateway project will benefit from neutral governance and a global community, ensuring it remains vendor-agnostic and community-driven. This initiative is expected to foster open collaboration and long-term stewardship in the AI ecosystem.
